 There are numerous ways to generate traffic to promote affiliate products. In this article, I would like to discuss a free method which involves getting traffic from search engines (in the organic listings) and directing that traffic to affiliate offers from blog posts, pages, banners, and emails.

Getting Free Organic Traffic From Search Engines

 Consider the phrases that the people in your niche are typing into the search engines . Make sure to write content that is optimized for one or more of those key phrases.

 To keep the process quick and simple I use Google or YouTube Suggest to see what potential longtails are being searched. I pick one main one and sometimes a secondary one and write my content.

 If you have self-hosted WordPress site then you can use Yoast SEO plugin for WordPress some of the suggestions for SEO is to: have your targeted keyword in the title of the post (which usually places it automatically in the URL and title tag as well), include the phrase in the first paragraph, and include it in the copy as well, perhaps in a subheading. See your Yoast SEO score and change the article according to Yoast.

Featured Post

 Featured posts are the article that you feature on your blog’s homepage. The featured post gets the most attention of the readers who visits your blog.

 So, you can write a review or article promoting an affiliate product and place it in featured posts area. When a reader visits your blog and finds the contents on the blog useful, they will look for more interesting articles. So having some really good content as the featured posts can do wonders and lead to higher conversion.

 In the “edit post” section, click on “Visibility” and put a check mark beside “Stick this post to the front page”. I have tried this with a few pillar posts at shout me loud, and it has really increased my reader base.

Review Post

 Review posts are currently the best way to promote affiliate products. Every buyer wants to buy a genuine product that worth the money the manufacturer is asking. Hence, they will try their best to research about the product they are willing to buy. And what can be a better place than Intenet to research about something.

Note: Reviews should be honest. Most of the time, people just focus on the good points about a product and fail to mention any downsides. 

 An honest review should include both sides of the coins. 

 Remember to also add product images, and give all the useful information you have to offer about the product.

 Write a review in a personal tone, as people are looking for a personal recommendation in review articles.

Pick a product that you are more likely to use yourself.

Use Sidebar Banners

 Using banner ads to promote an affiliate product is an old tactic, but it still works quite well. You can use the banner ad in the sidebar to promote an affiliate product.

  Create and customize the sidebar ad banner with an attractive image showing the product your are promoting. Make sure that the product you are trying to promote is related to your website and readers are interested in it. Also, make sure that you don’t promote two similar products on your sidebar.

  Recommend one thing that you think is the best. You may have multiple banners and multiple products, but don’t promote two similar products.

Is it safe to use Affiliate links with Google AdSense

 Absolutely! You can use the affiliate links while using AdSense ads on your blog and it is completely safe. Just make sure you don’t use excessive affiliate links within the content as Google doesn’t like links for the sake of promotion.
